The Chief of the Colerain Police Department, Mark Denney, announced the arrests of the four individuals that took cash from victims on March 25th and 26th after posting bogus ads on Craigslist offering a cell phone for sale.
Detectives from Colerain Police Department Criminal Investigative Unit went undercover on March 28th to meet the suspects involved in the armed robberies. One detective arrived at the arranged meet-up and two suspects entered the vehicle. The undercover officer bailed out of the car after one suspect pointed a gun at his head. The suspect then fled the car and started to point his weapon at another officer. The detective was then forced to fire his service weapon, striking him in the hand.
Four suspects were located and arrested after further investigation. Those arrested are Edna Liban, 20, of Wes Galbraith Road, Justice Grant, 19, of College Hill, and two underage teenagers. According to a press release from the Colerain Police Department, both juveniles have been referred for bind-over hearings in Hamilton County Juvenile Court to be tried as adults.
