Domestic Disturbance Leads to Shot Dog

( Madisonville ) ** Update 4-24-13, 3:30pm ** A Cincinnati police officer suffered a knee injury on Wednesday afternoon trying to pull a dog off another officer. Investigators say the officers went to a home in the 4200 block of Erie Avenue at about 1:15pm for the report of a domestic disturbance. 

When officers escorted a woman out of the house, a man in the house became upset and let a dog loose on the officers. The dog attacked, biting an officer's jacket. After pulling the dog off, one of the officers opened fire, killing the animal. The man is expected to face charges. 

The injured officer was taken to the hospital for observation.

A Cincinnati police officer was injured on Wednesday at about 1:15pm, after responding to a domestic disturbance at a home in the 4200 blockof Erie Avenue. Police say at least one of the officers fired shots at a dog. It's unclear how the officer was injured, but police say the officer hurt his knee.

The SPCA was also sent to the scene.
