(Washington, D.C.) On Wednesday, May 14th, at approximately 9:30 am ET, Senator Mitch McConnell will deliver remarks on the Senate floor welcoming police officers, their families, and survivors from across Kentucky to Washington, D.C., for National Police Week. During his remarks, Senator McConnell will honor law enforcement officers from the Commonwealth.  He will also pay tribute to the two Kentucky law enforcement officers who have fallen in the line of duty in the last year -- Officer Jason Scott Ellis of the Bardstown Police Department and Deputy Sheriff Chad D. Shaw of the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

Senator McMconnell will also speak to the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. about the Heroin epidemic in Kentucky. He attended a community meeting in Florence back in March that highlighted the problem.
