Hamilton County Commissioners Want to Hear from You

Hamilton County Commissioners

( Hamilton County ) - County Commissioners have until the end of the year to pass a balanced budget for 2019, and they have to do it with $29 million less than this past year. In order to keep the public involved, commissioners want people to come out and communicate what's important to them.

The first of three public hearings will be held on Thursday, November 1, at the Sharonville Convention Center on Chester Rd at 6:30pm. During that meeting, the Hamilton County Administrator will present his budget recommendations.

Commissioners blame the deficit on a lack of funding from the State of Ohio. An effort to raise the sales tax was recently dropped, meaning cuts to county departments are expected.

In addition to Thursday's hearing, two other hearings on November 7 and 13 will be held before commissioners vote on a budget.

If you're unable to attend these meetings, but still want to weigh in, you're encouraged to click here to submit your comments on the county's electronic public hearing site.
