Freestore FoodBank Breaking Ground on a New Centralized Hub in Riverside

( Cincinnati, OH ) - The Freestore Foodbank is breaking ground Wednesday on a new centralized food distribution and training center in Cincinnati's Riverside neighborhood.

The multi-million dollar, 195,000-square-foot building will be the first facility the organization has built specifically for serving the Tri-State's food pantries.

Kurt Reiber, President and CEO of the Freestore Foodbank, says the new facility will nearly quadruple their refrigerated space. That will allow them to store and distribute more fresh produce, and other healthier food items, that are in high demand from the people they serve.

Construction on the building, which will be located on River Road just off U.S. 50, is set to begin later this summer. The Freestore Foodbank expects the new facility will open in late 2022.
