Help for a football official
This past June 6, while officiating the annual East/West All Star football game at Dixie High School, Chris Vier, a member of the NKOA, suffered a severe leg/ankle injury during the course of play. Chris was transported to University hospital and received his first of three surgeries the next day.
October 2 Chris had his right foot amputated just below the knee due to infection.
Chris is married and has four children, the youngest being 8 years old. Chris has exhausted all of his sick time and his vacation time with his employer, and even though he does have insurance,it will a considerable amount of time before he can return to work. Time that he will be without any income from his employer. His medical bills will surely exhaust any and all savings that he and Mary had.
The Northern Kentucky Officials Association, in conjunction with Bank of Kentucky have set up an account to receive donations for the Vier family. Chris's wife, Mary Vier is listed as the accounts administrator. Here is a link to locations for the Bank of Kentucky. www.bankofkentucky.com
