Flashback: Remember This Week in Baseball?

I'm on vacation....enjoy this

This Week in Baseball
Growing up in the 1970's and 80's, This Week in Baseball was must see TV.
There was the NBC Saturday Game of the Week and ABC's Monday Night Baseball. But with no ESPN Sports Center, no nightly baseball games on TV, and the internet, This Week in Baseball was the way to watch everything going on the MLB. The 30-minute show featured highlights of recent games, interviews with players, and other regular features. I'd watch to for how many Reds highlights made the show and to see American League players that I rarely got to see highlights of. The original host of the show was Yankees Hall of Fame announcer Mel Allen. His classic line to a big play was, "how about that?". I loved TWIB Notes, which were notes/stats from the past week. The theme song of the show was a classic ear worm. You'd hear it and you could not stop humming it. The original syndicated run of the show was from 1977 to 1998.
