Our trip Valhalla on Sunday

PGA Championship, Valhalla, Louisville
I checked another sporting event off my Bucket List on Sunday. I attended my first PGA major with Casey and my dad. What an experience. We parked at Papa John's Stadium and took the free shuttle. From the time we parked, to the time we were on the road, it took seven minutes. We staked out the 14th green (Thanks DJ Hodge). We had chairs and binoculars. We were able to watch golfers tee off at 14th and then putt in front of us. We could see them tee off at 15, and approach 16. We climbed the hill behind us and watched tee shots and approaches on 12. The course is spectacular.
I'm not a big crowds, traffic or bad weather guy. Our plan was to get there early, and be home in time to watch the final few holes. We watched about four hours of action, including Bubba Watson, Colin Montgomerie and Graeme McDowell. The skies opened up around 1pm and it poured and it poured. Valhalla took a beating. There was mud everywhere. I appreciate all the tips from listeners to wear old shoes. We bought PGA golf shirts and hats. We hit the road home shortly after play was suspended. We watched the final holes from the comfort of home. What a finish. What a day.

Set up on the 14th green.

What a beautiful course.
