Pretty cool: Watch Joey Votto and MLB 1B do Lou Gehrig's speech

"Today, I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth"
-Lou Gehrig, Yankees 1B, July 4, 1939

MLB got first basemen from around the league to recreate the famous speech by Hall of Fame 1B Lou Gehrig on the 75th anniversary (July 4, 1939). The speech will be played around MLB ballparks on Friday. Gehrig played 17 seasons with the Yankees before a degenerative nerve disorder called Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), forced him to retire in 1939 at the age of 36. The disease, now known as Lou Gehrig's disease, claimed his life less than two years later.
