Final: Reds 6 Pirates 5 Boxscore
*Well, that was a wild 3 hour and 54 minute ride....Chris Heisey banged into wall and caught the final out on a drive by Clint Barmes with two runners on bottom 9th.
*Reds led 1-0, tied 1-1, down 2-1, tied 2-2, up 5-2, tied 5-5.
*Reds took a 5-2 lead to the 7th inning and watched the bullpen implode again, allowing Pirates to tie the game. But Todd Frazier saved the night with the tie-breaking/go-head/winning HR in 9th.
*Reds 34-35, winners of 5 of 6, move ahead Pirates into 3rd place, 1-run win (13-14).
*Now 5-2 since getting everyone back from DL.
*Reds now 5-2 vs Brewers, 6-2 vs Pirates....outscoring 73-46.
*So, need a bat or 7th inning reliever more?
*I've always loved this offense: 6 runs/13 hits...that's 19 R/32 H last 2 games.
*Top 4 order Hamilton-Frazier-Votto-Phillips: 9 for 19, 5 R, 4 RBI, 2B, HR, BB, 4 SB.
*7 different Reds with at least a hit: 3 Hamilton, 2 Frazier, Votto, Ludwick, Phillips.
*Billy Hamilton: on base 4 times....3 H, 2B, 3 SB, 2 R, BB, OF assist, up to .272.
*How many errors has Hamilton created this year?
*Hamilton had poor bunt, Russell Martin made heck of a play, Billy steal beat out, stole 2nd/went to 3rd on Martin error...amazing.
*Hamilton huge catch/throw DP B3 to get Andrew McCutchen at plate.
*Johnny Cueto was not sharp and never really appeared comfortable after 1st inning. He walked more (4) than he K'd (2) even allowed 2 SB.
*Cueto's pitch count was high for 2nd straight start: 112 in 6 innings/119 in 6 innings. Threw 28 pitches in 3rd inning/rallied with 12 pitch 4th. At 100 pitches through 5 innings. From LA start to last night he threw 181 pitches over 9 inning span.
*Ryan Ludwick 2 hits, RBI 1B tied game in 4th....on fire since Bryan Price made LF a mix/match position....had hits in 5 straight AB's finally end.
*Reds have scored 1st in 5 straight games.
*No idea why Todd Frazier tried to bunt with Hamilton on 2nd in 1st inning.
*4 SB by Reds: 3 Hamilton (28), Frazier 7th.
*Votto's 1st 3 RBI game of season, first since September 14 last year vs Brewers.
*How about Princeton/UC product Josh Harrison with 4 hits?
*Brandon Phillips K for 1st time in 43 plate appearances (June 6).
Starting pitching:
Cueto: 6 IN, 7 H, 2 R, 2 K, 4 BB
Bullpen: Jumbo Diaz anyone
So much for Bryan Price getting out of the box with his bullpen roles.
Sam LeCure?: .2 IN, 3 H, 3 R
Manny Parra: .1 IN, K
Logan Ondrusek: 1.1 IN, 2 H, BB..big K McCutchen/Davis with 2 on in 8th.
*Aroldis Chapman: 12th save, H, BB, 2 K...
T1: Votto RBI 1B, 1-0 Reds
B2: Josh Harrison RBI 2B, 1-1
B3: Martin BB with bases loaded, 2-1 Pirate
T4: Ryan Ludwick RBI 1B, Brayan Pena FC scored Jay Bruce, 3-2 Reds
T7: Votto 2-RBI 1B scored Hamilton, Frazier, 5-2 Reds.
B7:  RBI 1B Davis, Martin, Harrison, 5-5.
