Reds swept by Braves: Same old song and dance

ATLANTA, GA - APRIL 27: Freddie Freeman #5 of the Atlanta Braves is mobbed by teammates after knocking in the game-winning run in the 10th inning against the Cincinnati Reds at Turner Field on April 27, 2014 in Atlanta, Georgia. (Photo by Scott Cunningham/Getty Images)

Final: Braves 1 Reds 0 (10 innings)
*Freddie Freeman singled for a 10th inning walk-off winner vs Manny Parra.

*10th: JJ Hoover allowed 2-out 1B to Jason Heyward, then Hoover couldn't handle come backer by BJ Upton.
*Bryan Price and Homer Bailey ejected in 1st inning after lost challenge on Cueto pickoff that umpires clearly blew. See video below.
*First extra-inning game of year, after 22 last year.
*Reds 3-9 in 1-run games.....12 of 25 games have been 1-run (40%).
*Reds now 11-14....road trip of 5-5, but after starting 5-2.
*Bullpen's scoreless streak of 10-innings ended in 10th.
*Reds homered just twice on road trip....last Sunday.
*Poor Johnny Cueto: 8 IN, 12 K, 0 R...for the year: 2-2 1.15.....1 ER last 30 IN.
*Do those that point to Bailey's career record, point to Cueto's 2-2 record as being an average pitcher?
*Cueto 6 starts on year, Reds have won 2...with a 1.15 ERA?
*Cueto was nails...stranded 2 runners in 5th and 6th.
*According to Elias Sports Bureau, since 1900 the most innings pitched for a Reds pitcher before May 1 is 54 by Pete Schneider in 1917. Cueto is at 47 innings.
*FYI…Bronson Arroyo had 41 last season.

*So many missed opportunities/such poor fundamentals/so many poor AB's/so many quick innings.
*Reds had 2 on in 10th, Bernadina
*Billy Hamilton heck of a catch on sinking liner.
*Hamiton caught stealing for 4th in 13 tries (69%)? I'm not sure he was out, but Price had lost his challenge.
*Votto-Phillips-Bruce-Frazier: 0 for 13
*Offense 5 for 33 ).151)...hits: 2 Ludwick, 1 Hamilton, 1 Cozart, 1 Pena.
*They simply can't keep hitting BP 3rd...can't.
*Offense: 5 runs in 3 game series vs Braves.
*Unless I missed one, the last Red ejected from game was Brandon Phillips, Sept. 1, 2012 vs Houston. Last Reds manager ejected was Aug. 28, 2011...Dusty Baker ejected vs Nationals.
*Next up: 7 game home stand starts Monday vs Cubs.

Did the umpires blow this call?
is more, including Bryan Price's beautiful post game comment.
