Grades/analysis for Bengals
Mel Kiper: B I had cornerback as the top need given Leon Hall's recent healthy history and the age of Terence Newman and Adam Jones, and the Bengals added a solid, projectable player in Darqueze Dennard -- plus, the value was good at No. 24.
NFL.com: Bengals among losers Cornerback Darqueze Dennard was a fine match of talent and need. After that, we don't see a lot of instant impact players in the Bengals draft.
USA Today: First impressions--loved it
They quietly continue to be one of the NFL's top procurers of talent over the past five years, and their on-field success reflects as much.
Sporting News: B+ Dennard and Clarke nicely address their needs for a physical starting cornerback and a big edge pass rusher to replace Michael Johnson.
CBS Sports: Top Value pick each team. Bengals: AJ McCarron
Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: Bengals C+
Geoff Hobson, Bengals.com: “Everybody in the division got better,’ he said Saturday evening in the litter of his 12th NFL Draft. But he took comfort in the Bengals answering each thrust with sledgehammer responses of their own. When the dust cleared Saturday, the Bengals’ top four draft picks were molded for the physicality that always seems to rule the AFC North.
Paul Dehner Jr, Enqurier: The 2014 NFL draft is officially in the books. Here's a look at the Bengals' draft class.
Coley Harvey, ESPN.com: The biggest move of the Bengals draft was also its most surprising one.
Joe Kay, AP: The Bengals think they've upgraded two important areas by getting cornerback Darqueze Dennard and defensive end Will Clarke in the draft. They also brought in a center who could start right away and a running back who could be pretty close behind.
