3 Days of Music, Food, and Beer

3 Days of Music, Food, and Beer

The 3rd Bunbury Music Festival is this weekend.  Organizers are expecting 65,000 people for the concerts, food, craft beer and bourbon along Sawyer Point and Yeatman's Cove.

Brian Kitzmiller gave me a tour as they were setting up Tuesday.

The name Bunbury comes from an Oscar Wilde play, where the main character made up an imaginary Bunbury, to use as excuse to get out of things he didn't want to do.  As in, "I'd love to help you move this weekend, but I have to go see Bunbury."

There's a Craft Beer Village, with 22 different breweries represented, from Sierra Nevada, and Left Hand, along with local favorites like Rhinegeist and Mad Tree.  And there's a Distillery Village, with seven makers.

And there's music.  80 bands performing on six different stages.  Brian says the groups include the Flaming Lips, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, and Empire of the Sun, and up-and-coming acts including Cage the Elephant, Young the Giant, and Fitz & the Tantrums.  Also performing is Veruca Salt, Foxy Shazam, and 500 Miles to Vegas.
