Reds Lose 1st Replay Challenge
Yesterday was the first game in which the Reds were allowed to test the new instant replay system. It was the bottom of the 5th inning, the Angels' Erick Aybar was on second base. Hank Congar then singled to right field with Aybar scoring. After the throw to the plate, catcher Brayan Pena threw to second base as Congar was trying to take an extra base. Congar was ruled safe and manager Bryan Price decided to challenge the call. After a 2 minute and 15 second review, the call stood. 2 outs later Congar scored on a base hit.
Johnny was Dealin'
After struggling a bit in his last outing, Johnny Cueto was near perfect in his 4 innings of work yesterday. He shut the Angels out on 2 hits (one was a bloop) and had a pair of strikeouts.
