Simon Struggles Again

Alfredo Simon delivers a pitch yesterday against the Indians

With Mat Latos starting the season on the Disabled List, Alfredo Simon is slated to start against the Mets on April 6.  He has not pitched well in his last 4 starts.  In his last 18.1ip he has given up 24 hits, 12 earn runs an 6 walks.

Who will Close?

With Aroldis Chapman and Jonathon Broxton both on the DL, the Reds now need to decide who is going to close game.  It looks like it could be mixture of J.J. Hoover, Manny Parra, Sam LeCure, and Logan Ondrusek.  Parra is the only lefthander in the bullpen so it may not be an option to save him until the 9th.

J.J. Hoover was roughed up to the tune of 3 runs on 3 hits in 1 inning of work.

Bailey and Latos both work

Both Homer Bailey and Mat Latos worked in minor league games yesterday on the Reds complex.  Homer went 4 plus innings and threw 76 pitches.  According to Jeff Brantley he looked very healthy and was throwing in the mid 90's.  Latos threw 43 pitches in 3 innings.  He also pitched well according to the Cowboy.
