TheDirty.com Parties At Mynt Martini on Thursday, June 14!
After reading a dozen or so light-weight, mainstream media reports that regurgitated attorney Charlie Lester's motion to suppress months worth of text messages between his former high school teacher/former Ben-Gal client and her alleged teenage, student boyfriend, and blogging my own in-depth legal analysis of all the good questions the mindless reporters missed, I gotta admit, I feel about as sick as Sarah Jones looks in her mugshot! But this interesting little tidbit is just too good to pass up...
Tomorrow (Thursday), June 14th, the brazen blogger that launched Sarah Jones into the realm of public figures is coming to Mynt Martini on Fountain Square in downtown Cincinnati! The one and only Nik Richie, publisher of TheDirty.com (as opposed to "thedirt.com" for everyone out there with a suspended law license or two, and a lack of attention to detail that may have gotten the two confused in the past) is coming to town for a party to "celebrate the 1st amendment!" For those of you who've spent the last couple years in a bubble without TV, radio, or the internet, you should know that everyone else on the planet was introduced to
then-Ben Gal Sarah Jones via press release when she filed a libel/slander/defamation lawsuit over 3rd party posts on Richie's less-than-tasteful gossip website www.thedirty.com that basically claimed the then-still employed high school teacher contracted STDs from her cheating boyfriend and was also doing a little two-timing of her own with some Bengals players. After a 2nd press release proclaimed Jones won $11M via default judgment (meaning no answer to the lawsuit was ever filed), Richie finally spoke up and pointed out that Jones' loud mouth lawyer, Eric Deters, never served him with the lawsuit. It turned out Deters had apparently filed suit against "thedirt.com" instead of "thedirty.com". The lack of a Y meant the suit was actually filed against a totally different website that never said anything about Sarah Jones! Ooops!
So just what brings Nik Richie to Cincinnati? If half his exploits reported on his website are even remotely true, the guy lives a rockstar lifestyle, routinely partying in happening locations like Las Vegas, New York, and LA. With all due respect to my beloved hometown, compared to those places, Cincy is about as exciting as a church picnic. So what's the occasion?! My bet would be a hearing, deposition, or some other legal proceeding involving Jones civil suit which is probably worth less than the cost of Richie's airfare at this point. But has the local media looked into it? Of course not. Do they even know Richie's coming to town? Probably not. Why? Because not much gets media attention in this city unless its spoon-fed to reporters via a press release they can cut and paste into a story! One would think, however, that right on the heels of this week's reports about Jones' attempts to get those text messages tossed, the media would jump on this story like an English teacher on... nevermind, you get the point!
So who's going to Mynt Martini and checking it out?! Email me or leave a comment on my Facebook page and let me know. As Willie would say, "Give us a full report!" I'd provide more details in advance but the Mynt web page is kinda lame and really doesn't say much. All I can tell you is Mynt is at 511 Walnut Street and there will be music by DJ KOMBAT. You can also read Richie's readers' comments about the event on TheDirty's blog post about the party.
