There are very few things I like in the morning... blogging isn't one of them! Forgive me if this isn't filled with earth shattering insights but I'm making an effort just so the radio gods at The Big One know how dedicated I am!
Good news! I'm on 700WLW for 3 solid hours this Saturday 12-3pm and I'm excited! I hope everyone can tune in, call in, and check out my Facebook page during the show! Of course you can also chime in right here on my blog as well. I'm flirting with the idea of a Twitter page too. Not sure I'm quite ready to turn on Twitter though. We'll see. Maybe I'll announce my new Twitter "handle" on the show Saturday.
I asked my Facebook friends for topics to discuss on my show Saturday (12-3p for those who missed it in the last paragraph). So far my best four suggestions are:
1. How hot of a lawyer/radio personality I am. Thanks guys. Really. I'm flattered but I don't think anyone needs a chick to talk about how hot she is, especially on the radio. Nevertheless, you're all free to call in and bring the subject up. I certainly won't hang up on you. Then again, if women want to call in and tell me I'm hot, that would probably make for better radio... for the guys anyway. Maybe we're onto something here...
2. Medical marijuana and a push to get it on the ballot. This reminds me of when I had the prosecutor from the Jerome Simpson case on my show and the phones were flooded with pot heads. Stoners = great radio. Kind of feels like I'm just picking low hanging fruit but maybe we'll just have to go here again. If there's not enough brain cells left for a good discussion, maybe we'll kick in the theory that pot vote initiatives are being orchestrated by Obama and other Dems to "fire up" their base of liberal support (pun intended). There may be something to this. I can't imagine stoner voting tendencies are very strong without proper motivation. Is this the same political tactic as Republicans putting gay marriage bans on the ballot in years with close races?! We'll see what you think.
3. Domestic drones. Personally, I can't think of anything more boring to talk about that drones. Just the word drone sounds like boring radio. Besides, I don't get all the fuss. I don't like the idea of drones flying over my home, but law enforcement can already legally fly over your home in a manned aircraft, so why is it more offensive if the aircraft doesn't have 2 cops on board. Seems to me these drones may actually save taxpayer $ by not paying to have a couple cops hovering over our homes. Plus, I gotta figure a drone crashing to the earth will cause less damage and loss of life than a full size plane or helicopter coming down. Hopefully we don't have time for drones, but if we do, I hope some caller can make me understand why I should care about them.
4. Our 1st place Cincinnati Reds! Anyone who knows me or listens to my show knows I'm
NOT a sports junkie. I want to be a sports fan. I just don't know much about sports. What I do know is there's a certain restaurant very close to my Covington law office that's frequented by Reds players and they are as delicious as the food! Saw Drew Stubbs there a couple days ago. Someone told me he's injured but his body certainly looks FINE to me! Chris Heisey is much cuter in person too. Jay Bruce was in there a few weeks back but he just doesn't do it for me. Anyhow, ladies, I'd love to hear which athletes you've met in person and what you thought of them. Are they really as hot as we think or do they just appeal to us because we see them on TV?! Call in and let me know what you think. Guys, if you want to call in and talk baseball, I'll pretend like I know what you're talking about. It will be fun. I am getting better about the Reds this season though. It's taken a lot of concentration but I'm starting to watch the games, not just the players.
So what else should we chat about? Let me know. Comment on my blog or on my Facebook page and tune in to 700WLW Saturday to see if we're chatting up your topic. And keep an eye on Twitter. You may just see me there soon!
