People suck..YES...it's true!!...The population is full of self-absorbed, jerks who care more about money and sex than anything else. And then there are dog people. You know the kind, they slow down if a lost dog is in the road and faithfully walk their 4 legged friends on a daily basis swinging their poop bags with pride...I am a dog person!! My parents raised me with a healthly appreciation for all animals, especially dogs. In fact, without my dog Corey, I would never have met my husband. Corey is a Brittany Spaniel I adopted from a family who could no longer care for him...long story short...no matter how many times he ran through the shock field, he was never deterred... and so I called a fencing company, they built the fence, and a year later I married the fence company's owner.
So a few years later...along came our son and with him we decided he needed his own dog. All boys need a dog! My husband, having always wanted a Rottweiler, contacted a breeder in Warren County and right around our son turning six weeks old, we picked up our six week old Rottweiler and named him Ziggy. Most people thought we were sadists, a new baby and a new puppy?? And yes, the first few months were rough...but then there were times like this...simply amazing!! and this takes me to, drum roll please.....
LISA'S LAB OF THE WEEK!! I volunteer for Cincinnati Lab Rescue!! And from now on I will try my best on a weekly basis to update this blog with a Lab that needs a forever home.
This week's lab is ROCKY!!
Meet sweet Rocky! He is a 5 year old, 70 pound Labrador that loves to give kisses. Rocky came to us from South Carolina thanks to the wonderful volunteers of Pilots-N-Paws. He is a very gentle boy who loves other dogs and is great with people of all ages. Rocky will melt your heart. He is ready to have some fun at last and will be the perfect Labby addition to any family!
