In May 1997 the Police Unity Tour was organized, by Officer Patrick P. Montuore of the Florham Park Police Department, with the hope of bringing public awareness of Police Officers who have died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices. What started with 18 riders on a four day fund-raising bicycle ride from Florham Park, NJ to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. Has grown into 8 Chapters consisting of nearly 1600 members nationwide who make the trip annually.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?The 2013 Police Unity Tour begins in Portsmouth, Virginia on May 9, 2013 and ends at the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial in Washington DC on May 12, 2013.
Participants interested are required to train extensively to prepare for this 250 mile ride. In addition, participants (both riders & support) are required to raise a minimum of $2000 for the Police Unity Tour.
