(Cincinnati) -- This is the biggest weekend of the year for Spring Grove Cemetery. Executive vice president Thomas L. Smith is expecting about 10,000 visitors.
Sunday morning, at 11, American Legion Post 372 holds a ceremony. From noon until 3, the Norman Chapel will be open for tours. And at 1pm, docent Mark Lager will lead a walking tour, focusing on the cemetery's Civil War history.
On Monday, there's a Civil War re-enactment group, the Sons of Union Veterans, who've been part of the Memorial Day ceremonies for decades. That starts at 11. Lager leads another walking tour at noon.
Spring Grove Cemetery is the final resting place for nearly 3 dozen Revolutionary War veterans, and 13 Civil War generals. There are also 8 winners of the Congressional Medal of Honor.
