( Lebanon ) The former Mason High School teacher who had sex with several students had a hearing Tuesday regarding her request for early release from prison. Stacy Schuler was sentenced to four years in prison in October of 2011 after being convicted on more than a dozen sex crimes involving multiple sexual encounters with students.
Schuler has spent just over a year at the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville, where her attorney has said she has been an excellent inmate, leading health and fitness classes and attending counseling. Dozens of letters in support of Schuler were presented Tuesday.
The former Mason teacher was granted judicial release Tuesday, after serving a quarter of her sentence for sexual battery and providing alcohol to minors. The judge ordered Schuler to have no contact with the victims, she can't have alcohol for five years, and has to register as a sex offender.
