A man uses an extension cord to save two children's lives. Two men were involved in the rescue. The men who just happened by as the children were being swallowed by ice at Delhi Park's Clearview Lake. The boys ages 9 and 10 were rescued Saturday by Joe Bredestege an 18-year-old Eagle Scout and 45-year-old Hal Wane who was at home seeing the commotion from a window. The boys had been playing on the ice when it broke. Bredestage pulled one boy to safety but was not able to get the other and was drowning himself until Wane came to the rescue with an extension cord he threw out to Bredestage and the other child...pulling them both to safety. No one was seriously hurt.
