(Cincinnati)
A new investigator has been sworn in to solve fire mysteries. Her name is "Zephyr" and she's been through the A-T-F accelerant detection canine course. "Zephyer" is a labador retriever who is specially trained to detect a variety of ignitable liquids that could have been used to start a fire.
Zephyer is one of four dogs specially trained by the division of the State Fire Marshall at the A-T-F's canine training facility in Virginia. She will be based in Dayton and will cover Montgomery, Greene, Preble, Butler, Warren and Hamilton counties.
She never eats out of a bowl, but is hand-fed and only gets fed as a reward for correclty identifying an accelerant.
