Police say a man was shot and killed in the hallway of an upstairs apartment building in Oakley. It happened at 3332 Alamo Avenue around one in the morning. The man, whose name has not been released, was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where police say he was pronounced dead. Witnesses say the man was shot in the chest. No arrests have been made.

It's unclear if it's related, but firefighters were also called to the same building as a fire broke out three hours later below where the man was shot. Neighbors wound up going from door to door waking people up and getting them to evacuate the building. A man wound up getting first degree burns on his hand in the fire.
