Police in Manchester, Ohio, in Adams County, say that on the night of December 11th, Jesika Case and Jeremy Cox put their 18 month old daughter to bed at around 11 P.M. When they went to check on her some 12 hours later, she was dead.

They say a space heater was put on a nightstand about six feet away from the bed and it caused the room to overheat. When investigators arrived they measured the temperature at between 90 and 120 degrees.

Chief Jeff Bowling says a neighbor called 9-1-1 while a mail carrier who was passing by tried to recessitate Jailynn Cox, but she was unresponsive.

Both parents have been indicted for Endangering Children, Reckless Homicide and Involutary Manslaughter.
