( Hamilton County ) - Police, firefighters, and EMS were busy with injury crashes on Thursday.

It started with a man hurt in a crash near downtown. Two cars collided just before 10am on the Sixth Street ramp to Northbound I-75. One of the vehicles was run off the side of the road, striking 30-year-old Abner Santiago, and putting him in the hospital in serious condition. He was collecting trash on the side of the road at the time. The other car landed on its top, and the two women inside were also taken to the hospital.

Around 3pm, four vehicles crashed in Queensgate at the intersection of Linn and Dalton. That collision involved a pickup, an SUV, a school bus with no children inside, and a box truck. The SUV ended up in a ditch, trapping at least one person inside. Two other people were also taken to the hospital.

A six-vehicle crash happened in Springfield Twp around 6pm. Northbound Hamilton Avenue was shut down for hours after an SUV hauling a trailer rear-ended another vehicle, causing a chain-reaction crash. Three people were hurt in that crash. Word from the scene, a driver was arrested for OVI. No names have been released.
