( Aurora, IN ) - Last November, two men were involved in a single vehicle crash when they went off the roadway in the 100 block of Billingsley Drive, Aurora.
Police say the driver, 25-year-old Aric A Shinkle, crashed his truck into trees along the roadside while under intoxication. The crash claimed the life of the passanger, 25-year-old Robert S. Martin, who was pronounced dead at Dearborn County Hospital.
Shinkle allegedly tested positive for alcohol and marijuana with a blood alcohol content of .126%. The legal limit of blood alcohol content in Indiana is .08%
On Feb 7, Shinkle was charged with Operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing death with a schedule I controlled substance, a class B felony, Operating a vehicle while intoxicated while causing death with an alcohol concentration of at least .08%, a class C felony, and Reckless homicide, a class C felony.
There is now a warrant out for Shinkle's arrest.
