(Cincinnati) The past few weeks have been a struggle for one of Cincinnati Zoo's
endangered Sumatran rhinos.
Ipuh, a male rhino, was euthanized because his health was suffering in recent
weeks.
Zoo employees say the rhino's health began to deteriorate in December. In the
weeks leading to his euthanization, the rhino lost his ability to stand and began to
eat less.
Ipuh produced more offspring than any other captive male Sumatran rhino.
For the last 22 years, he lived at the Cincinnati Zoo.
