( Hamilton ) The first of several hearings over proposed rate increases from Duke Energy will be held Tuesday evening. The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio is holding the hearings regarding Duke's proposed increase of $10.25 per month for natural gas distribution and $6.50 per month for electric distribution.
The proposed increases relate to the clean up of two former manufactured gas plants, the cost of relocating utilities for the Cincinnati streetcar project and increased profit for shareholders, according to the Office of Ohio Consumer Council.
