(Montfort Heights) LaSalle High School experienced the loss of a student who was believed to be involved in a drug related incident over the weekend, according to police.

The school identifed the man as 17-year-old Justin Brown.

According to police, Brown and his friends used fake money in a drug deal on 1700 Carll Street. Police identified the drug dealer as 19-year-old Dierres Lee.

Police say when Lee realized the money was counterfeit, he allegedly aimed a gun at Brown's car and shot Brown in the head.

Shortly after Brown was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital around 9p.m. Sunday, police closed off Carll Street as part of the investigation.

Cincinnati police charged Lee with murder and took him to the Hamilton County Justice Center on Monday.

LaSalle High School held a special mass for Justin Brown Monday afternoon. Students who need help coping with the loss can visit the school chapel until 7p.m. Students can also reach out to school counselors who will be on hand all week.
