(Cincinnati) Monday marks the first day for construction crews working on I-75 in what's expected to be a three year project.

The project will rebuild the Hopple Street interchange on I-75 starting Monday evening.

A temporary barrier will be put in place on I-75 while crews add more lanes, update ramp designs and construct new bridges from the Western Hills Viaduct to I-74.

The right lane of northbound I-75 north of the Western Hills Viaduct to Hopple Street, will be closed to traffic beginning at 8 p.m. Monday night, reopening by Tuesday at 6 a.m.

The northbound entrance ramp to Hopple Street will be also be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, March 5. 

Also on Tuesday, the left lane of southbound I-75 from just north of Monmouth Street to Hopple Street will be closed to traffic, beginning at 8 p.m., reopening by 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 6. In addition, the westbound Hopple Street ramp to southbound I-75 will be closed at 10 p.m., reopening by 5 a.m. Wednesday, March 6.

The project is expected to be finished December 2016.
