( Cincinnati ) 30-year-old Frederick Mitchell has been indicted on connection with the death of 6-month-old Elliott Megrditchian. Mitchell has been charged with two counts of murder and one count of assault and faces up to life in prison if convicted. 

Investigators say Mitchell was watching the son of a friend on March 8 at a home in the 300 block of Mount Hope Avenue. Mitchell called 911 to report the baby was not breathing and later died on March 10 at Cincinnati Children's Hospital.

The Hamilton County Coroner has ruled the death a homicide as the result of blunt force trauma. Prosecutor Joe Deters says, "This is another sad case of a child killed at the hands of the adult who was supposed to be watching him. We have had far too many of these cases recently in Hamilton County."
