( Trenton ) Friday night, Treton Police officers went to the Walgreens located at the south west corner of West State Street and Wayne Madison Road for an unknown problem called in on 911. Upon officer’s arrival it was discovered that there had been a robbery of a female customer in the parking lot and this was the second time this week that a female customer has been approached and robbed of her purse as they approached their vehicles.
On Monday March 11, at about 7:30pm Trenton Officers responded to the Walgreens and reported on another female that had been robbed of her purse by a male wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt that was reported to have run from the scene. Officers used a K9 to track the suspect but were unable to locate him.
On Friday evening the female victim in Monday night’s robbery just happened to be driving past the location of her assault when she witnessed a male wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt standing at the corner of the Walgreens building. The woman told her boyfriend and her adult son, who were riding in the car with her, that the male looked just like the guy that took her purse, as she quickly turned into the Walgreens parking lot. Just as they entered the lot they witnessed the male attack a female as she attempted to get in her car. Both the boyfriend and the son jumped out of the car and ran across the parking lot to the rescue of the female victim.
25-year-old Joseph S. Hilliard of Middletown, was subdued by the two men until Trenton Officers arrived on scene and placed him in custody. Hilliard has been charged with one count of Aggravated Robbery and one count of Robbery and is being housed in the Middletown City Jail.
24-year-old Dee Ann Lipp of Trenton was also arrested later Friday evening after an investigation revealed she was involved in both robberies. Lipp was charged with one count of Complicity to Aggravated Robbery and one count of Complicity to Robbery and is also being held in Middletown City Jail.
