( Middletown ) - Middletown Police responded to an Attempted Robbery and Assault at a laundromat in Middletown on Sunday morning.

57-year-old David Jones was attacked by a man with a stick while leaving Mid-Town Laundry located at 2225 N. Verity Parkway. The man is described as a balding white male in his 40s or 50s with a goatee, glasses, long black jacket, blue jeans and work boots. 

Police say the man attacked Jones from behind by beating him with a stick in attempt to knock him out. Jones fought the man off, who fled the scene going north on Verity Parkway in a small red four door car.
