( Green Twp ) - People against a 32-unit public housing building have been protesting for weeks now.
The main message of the people who are against the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority's plan to buy land at the corner of Westwood Northern Blvd and North Bend Road has been that they're not against public housing as a concept, but they'd rather see the units spread out and built over time.
At Monday night's meeting, Green Township Trustees voted to not sell that parcel of land to CMHA.
It's all fallout from CMHA blocking public housing in Green Twp for the last ten years. The 32 units are a mandate from the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, and CMHA has until 2016. CMHA could still seize the land through imminent domain if it wishes.
