(Cincinnati) The City of Cincinnati plans to introduce new trash carts to the local residents in over 90,000 households next week.
The additional 65-gallon carts will be safer for works, improve efficiency and will be cost effective for tax payers.
The new carts featuring wheels and an attached lid will be sent to single and multi-family homes up to four units. The new trash carts also support a metal lift bar, allowing the City to transition to semi-automated trash collection.
Semi-automated trash collection is safer for workers who manually lift and dump trash. Starting next week, all the workers will have to do is roll out the trash carts to the truck. The mechanical arm on the trash truck will do its part by lifting and dumping the trash carts for workers.
Delivery for the new trash carts will take about five months following the planned schedule:

holidays, so that households can set out more holiday-related trash than fits
