(Cincinnati) The home of Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the ballet, the Pops and the Cincinnati Opera will soon be renovated.
Cincinnati City Council unanimously approved plans for renovation and a 75-year lease for Cincinnati Music Hall.
The city agreed to provide $10 million in capital funds from 2016 to 2019 for the historical structure if the Music Hall Revitalization Company raises $50 million for the makeover.
The fundraising deadline for MHRC is July 1. 2015. If the money is not raised by the deadline, then the city can end the deal.
The city will also continue to fund $300,000 annually toward the Music Hall as well as the skywalk from the hall to the parking structure.
