( Hamilton ) A groundbreaking has been held for the RiversEdge Amphitheater, part of the city's Strategic Plan. It will be located on about 2.6 acres on the riverfront between downtown and the German Village Historic District. The site is currently vacant and was the former home of Sisters of Mercy Hospital.

Phase 1 will include a public park and extension of the Great Miami River Recreational Trail. Phase 2 will be the erection of a semi-permanent shade structure over the stage with a public restroom facility. The total estimated cost is about $1 million with funding coming from several state and local sources.
