(Cincinnati) -- Two demonstrators stripped down to their underwear, Tuesday afternoon, and climbed inside an oversized shoe box to draw a parallel between skin and animal hides.

Katie Arth of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals says cows are tortured in order to make leather, and it's unnecessary. She says synthetics are better in many ways than leather. Arth doused the two scantily clad demonstrators with stage blood to bring home the point. One passerby called the display "disgusting".
