Gary: You will be missed! I have been listening for over 30 years and the best interview I've ever heard was "yours" with the then Mayor of Louisville---Harvey Sloane. Just to think about it makes me laugh! Good Luck and Good Health,
Bill Hewitt --- Jasper, In.

Gary, you will be so missed. I would listen to you while getting ready for work as a police officer. You put me in a good mood before my shift and you were so much a part of my routine. Thanks, and god bless.

Hey Gary,
I've listened to you for many years since the WAKY radio station days since I grew up in Frankfort.
I moved up to N. Ky in the early 80's and listen to you ever since. I used to hate it when you would go on vacation since I missed your show.
I would listen to your show when I was on the road in N. Ohio and it always made me feel at home. You leaving WLW gives me the same sad feeling as when Johnny Carson stepped down from the tonight show.
Another legacy gone. I wish the best and thanks for entertaining this part of the world for the past 27 years.

Gary ;
I want to thank you for all the kindness you show me all the times we worked on the All-Star team together . Also to thank you for your help when I started my radio stint at WOBO here in Batavia. I am now at Hooah Radio an Internet station that is geared to the troops at all the Military bases around the world. If you have the time let's get together again would love to see you again. Thank You for all the great times and your friendship meant a lot .

Hi Gary,
It was with a heavy heart, albeit a glad one for you, to listen to your last shows. I have been retired since 2005 and am enjoying every minute of it. You and I are the same age and " when it is time, it is time." Only the individual affected knows that more than anyone else. I sent you an E proir to your last day and I hope that you will be able to read it. I searched 700's page and that was the one I picked on the BBC.com. I contacted Hal Blaine about your retirement. I met him when in Nashville back in November. You both have a program for the musicians that are very similar and I just think it would be great to see you guys connect The caliber of the two of you is amazing. I remember when "Gilbert Gnarley" did his thing about the "....four head VCR." I had just pulled into Lowes parking lot when it started. Good thing because I laughed so hard that when it was over I had to call my wife to fing out what the heck I even went there for. Needless to say, I will be getting many of your CD's. Can't wait till you come out with a compilation of different episodes. In closing, may your memories contain snapshots of all the good things you have done for the people in the "...good ol'e USA."
Thank you,
Greg Asbrock

I'm really going to miss the calls from "St. CEO". I always thought this was a great tribute to a kind-hearted woman who was castigated for her faults.
Good luck in your retirement! Pitts off! Jon in Hebron KY (the other yellow meat) Gary, You were the Anthony Munoz of the aiwaves--"The Best Ever"! (Or was Anthony the Gary Burbank of the gridiron?)

Hi Gary,
I had the immense pleasure of being the boom operator on your first “It’s The Pitts” pilot; it was one of my all time favorite gigs. It sure as hell was one my favorite wrap parties……at least what I remember of it. I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like not having you to listen to as I drive here & there, or while I hang out at the pool in the summer.
All my best and thank you,
Jamie
PS Tell Tracy Jamie (from WCPO) said hey!
For 27 years, Cincinnati has been blessed as the home of Gary Burbank. Over those many years the media has transformed. Cable television came of age. Satellites were launched to broadcast radio. The internet has become a daily part of our lives. Through all, Gary remained at the top of the radio industry and became a legend.
Gary touched our lives as listeners, fans and coworkers. For those of us who have had the opportunity to know him personally and professionally, it’s difficult to express in words what he has meant to us as a teacher, mentor and friend. Anyone who made their way through the halls at 700WLW has been enriched and their careers furthered by being lucky enough to have worked with, taught by and befriended by Gary. While he may have downplayed his skills, no one knows how to relate and talk with a radio audience better than Gary Burbank, a true original.
27 years has gone by and we are left wondering where those years have gone. As usual in life the good times pass too quickly. Our lives may have one less daily smile from now on.
Thank you for everything, Gary.
Your family at 700WLW.
Laughter is the best medicine…thanks but no thanks for
all the patients who felt better with you than they did with me.

First time listener, long time caller here wishing you the best for many years to come. My cousin introduced me to you when you were on WAKY in Louisville (we were young and didn't know any better). I called her to gloat when you started with LW. Since then the characters have done nothing but get better, the wit sharper, and the satire more cutting edge and intelligent. You've honed your talent and delivery beyond compare in the industry and surrounded yourself with a first rate supporting cast. You didn't write every line, but you shaped and delivered almost all of it better than anyone else on the air in my lifetime. The proof of that is the amount of material others have, uh, "borrowed" and the multi-generational audience you have maintained for so long.
You have literally made me laugh until I cried many, many times.
I've thoroughly enjoyed as many minutes of it as possible.

Just want to wish Gary the very
best in retirement. Listening in Lima, I was
fortunate enough to be able to listen to Gary when he was
with the BIG 8 jocks at CKLW. As
everyone else has already said, we will sorely miss looking forward to laughing
at and with Gary every
afternoon. Actually, WLW would have
enough material from Gary to
entertain us for years to come.
Good Luck Gary, Thanks for the Memories.

Congratulations on your retirement. One day I hope to get there myself. Thanks for all your GREAT work. I'm sure we'll see each other around town. I too am from the big town of Alexandria. Good Luck. I hope to see you out there.
Thanks for everything, Jeff

Will make this brief as I don't want to "besmuurch my reparartions".
Thanks!!!! Listened since the early days. You and a 3
hour Sunday radio program in Columbus got me into the Blues and
Fridays on WLW were very special. You have been a large part of why
the 'home office' radio comes on at 6 AM for the rest of the day.
I hope you leave today with a song in your Heart, a smile on your face and
saying to yourself...'I done good'.
The smiles and laughter you caused over the years will attest to
that.
Best,
Chuck Borden

I'm in my late 40s and live in Louisville. I remember when you were at WAKY and especially WHAS. I still have an autographic copy of your album, "Music to listen to records by" that you recorded many years ago. Several times a year I still tune you in on WLW, especially when Terry Meiners is on vacation at WHAS. They say the greatest gift man has is laughter. If that is true sir, you have spread a gold mine of joy and entertainment from Louisville to Cincinnati and the thousands of other places that hear your voice on the radio. I wish you a long and enjoyable retirement and I remain an great fan.
Sincerely,
