The campaign to take America back had it's first, real victory yesterday with the results of the 2010 mid-terms.

Thanks to God, Obama's policies and the Tea Party, we have a chance to hold a new crew of politicians' feet to the fire to do the right thing. I just hope John Boehner means what he says when it comes to cutting spending, gutting Obamacare, and keeping the Bush tax cuts. John is the same guy who broke down in tears on the House floor to argue in favor of TARP and the bailout of AIG. Now that 'blinky' Pelosi and her D.C. phonies have to relinquish their power in January, I trust Mr. Boehner will be swinging a truer gavel.

It was reassuring to see all those 'blue' districts go 'red' as the returns came in. The question is, have the Republicans finally gotten the message? Entitlement is still entitlement no matter which Federal program the money is being poured into. The Iraq war and Republican over spending gave us Obama and his socialist minions in the first place. If the party of the elephant has the kind of memory that an elephant is supposed to possess, they won't make those mistakes again.

Yeah, we still have Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer, Chuck Schumer, and, God forbid, Barney Frank to deal with. The fact is, the aforementioned are frightened to death that they have to deal with folks who actually represent the American people. Imagine Barney Frank being told to sit down and be quiet for a change. The old toad's head may explode. Imagine Nancy Pelosi being replaced not only in the Speaker's chair, but also from various committees. Imagine weak kneed Harry Reid having to check his back every five minutes to make sure some Brutus in his own party isn't gunning for his majority leadership chair. All of this makes me smile..a lot.

That smile will disappear though at the first sign that nothing has really changed. I demand gridlock, and repeal, and honesty for a change. Change- there's that word again. I pray this time the Republicans really mean it. If they don't, it means the end of the Republic. That would be nothing to smile about.
