Riley Nicolay's girlfriend of 3 years, Deidre Sechi, was diagnosed with cancer in January. The two Iowa State freshmen and high school sweethearts are facing the tough medical battle together. The internet saw that dedication on Tuesday when pictures of the couple surfaced on Reddit - Riley and Deidre both have shaved heads in the picture. Riley said "She’s shaving her head... so I’m shaving it with her. It wasn't an option for me." 

The photo caption of the picture on Deidre's Facebook page reads "If you're bald, I'm bald."  Deidre withdrew from Iowa State last semester after finding a desmoplastic small-round-cell tumor the size of a baseball in her stomach. Despite that Riley remains optimistic saying, "She is strong and determined, almost stubborn and a little thing like cancer will be but a speed bump to her."
