I must admit.  I am unrefined.  This guy is Richard Blanco the poet who read his poem at the Second Inauguration of President Barack Obama.  What a rally killer!

I guess I don't get poets, which I'm sure to a poet's mind makes you unrefined.  But, I admitted that.

One sun rose on us today, kindled over our shores,
peeking over the Smokies, greeting the faces
of the Great Lakes, spreading a simple truth
across the Great Plains, then charging across the Rockies.

Sure this is great writing, but isn't it supposed to rhyme?

Here I sit broken hearted.  I came to ____ and only farted.  

This line as a certain rhythm to it.

I once knew a girl from Arden.  Who'd like to have sex in the garden.

This limerick line is a classic.  I wish I could publish the whole thing.

Unrefined.  I guess I have simple Budweiser tastes.
