For Bengals' fans old enough to remember, January 24, 1982 is a sacred day.  That was the date of Super Bowl XVI and the Bengals' first appearance in a Super Bowl.  Final score: 49'ers 26 - Bengals 21.  The game played at the Silverdome.

The Detroit Lions played their last game at the Pontiac Silver Dome in the early 2000's.  A few years later the stadium was sold at auction for a little more than $500,000 (you read that correctly).  The building has taken a beating from the weather.  High winds.  Some snow.  And this is what the place looks like today.

Another sad entry for the "Ruins of Detroit."
