(Green Township, OH) --The campus of LaSalle High School on North Bend was locked down this morning after reports of a shooting. Police responded to the scene shortly after 9 on news that there was a single gunshot and a person down.
As Newsradio 700WLW first reported, a student atempted suicide in class during first bell. The student has not been identified and is at University Hospital. No other students were injured and no one else was threatened with harm during this incident.
This is the second tragedy to rock the LaSalle campus this year connected to gun violence. In February, a student was shot and killed in a drug deal that went bad. There is a great deal of speculation that this suicide attempt and the murder of Justin Brown may be connected but no confirmation yet from the school.

NORTH HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A month after receiving a diagnosis of a rare form of breast cancer, 29-year-old Jennifer Gargano was married on Sunday in a wedding made possible by the generosity of strangers.
Gargano’s husband Brian proposed on Valentine’s Day, and the couple originally planned to wed in August. But after a diagnosis of angiosarcoma of the breast one month later, they decided not to wait.
“We didn’t know what my treatment would do,” Gargano told CBS2′s Jeff Nguyen on Tuesday.
“I wanted to present myself to my family and friendsin a great way. So I didn’t want them to remember me as someone who was sick.” - Read more here >>
