There are a lot of crappy ways to die, and one of my greatest fears has always been to lose my life in a giant tortilla mixer. A 22 year old Guatemalan immigrant has now met that horrible fate in Brooklyn.

The New York Post has the story

A 22-year-old Guatemalan immigrant was crushed to death when he tumbled into the mixer at a Brooklyn tortilla factory early yesterday morning, police said.

Juan Baten, 22, often had to reach into the mixer to help the dough along, sources said, but at 2:30 a.m. his hand was snagged by one of the blades, and he was sucked inside.

The powerful turbines broke his neck and killed him instantly, police said.

Baten, who lived with his common-law wife Rosario Ramirez and their 7-month-old daughter Daisy, moved to New York from the tiny village of Cabral six years ago, shortly after his father was killed in a bus accident, family and friends said.

He recently had a premonition something bad was going to happen to him, his friend, Javier Leon, told the Post. "He told me dreamed of his late father.

He said, ‘I had a dream with my father, and something may possibly happen to me in the next few days,'''

Baten's co-workers, including his cousin, Hector Baten, think he may have been listening to music just before the accident and dropped his earphones into the dough.

Then when he tried to retrieve them, he was pulled in,

said. "It’s not logical that he would put his hands inside that machine with blades," he said. Baten had no time to scream for help.

"When co-workers in the front of the factory started noticing a problem with the tortillas [coming out], they called out, ‘Juan, Juan,'"

said. "When he didn’t respond, Hector Baten ran over and saw Juan, but it was too late."

On surveillance video at the factory, police sources say, Baten can be seen putting his hand into the waist-high mixer, as though he were trying to help the dough along, when he was dragged in head first.

Baten worked six nights a week at the Tortilleria Chinantla in Williamsburg and by day would care for the baby girl, his wife said.

"He was happy yesterday. playing with the baby,'' she said. "He called ... while he was at work and said he would see us later. I am still in shock."

What A Knob!

I’ve been in this business long enough to see plenty of people do questionable things to win a radio contest. However, a contestant trying to win a Mini Cooper has raised the bar of stupidity. In order to win the car, he had the automobile’s logo tattooed on his penis. That had to hurt… and even worse, now this moron has the word “Mini” tattooed on his old boy – not exactly good advertising if he’s trying to attract a potential mate.

Andreas Muller, 39, has gone to extreme lengths to win himself a car - having the word ‘Mini’ tattooed on to his penis.

The crazy German decided to have the rather painful tattoo after a radio station ran a competition to win a £20,000 Mini Cooper.

The brief: whoever pulled the craziest stunt to get the car would win.

Unsurprisingly, Muller’s offer to have the car manufacturer’s name branded on to his penis topped the list of crazy suggestions.

‘There were a lot of crazy stunts put forward by listeners, but Andreas won by a short head,’ said one of the competition’s organisers.

Radio listeners were then treated to Muller’s cries of agony while the unique piece of branding was created.

Muller claims the pain was worth it, saying: ‘Once I’m sitting in the car, it won’t matter anymore. Then the pain will be gone and it’ll be alright.’

There’s no doubt in my mind that a thousand years from now when archeologists are digging up our crap, they’ll come to the conclusion that Elvis was viewed as a God. The King may have died in 1977, but that hasn’t stopped him from collecting new fans each year.

Take That Tiny!

He was teased for having a small penis. What was his response? Gobbling down Enzyte? Nope… he cut his little member off. Somehow I suppose this made sense at the time.

Here’s the story.

MANILA, Philippines - Teased by his friends for having a "small" sex organ, a man in Cagayan de Oro City did the unimaginable: he cut it off.

Police said the man cut off his own penis with a bolo.

The man, whose name was withheld by authorities, has been declared out of harm, but doctors said they will not be able to restore the dismembered organ.

Myrna Villanueva, a psychologist, said the man should be closely monitored by doctors because of his condition.

Villanueva said the man may fall into depression once he realizes what has happened to him, and that he may even hurt himself again.

"Something is [now] missing, and the very important part that is missing speaks of masculinity, power and strength of a man... It's not normal. The fact nga ang normal na tao is to preserve one's self," she said.

She said the man must undergo therapy and counseling for him to recover mentally and emotionally.

Talk About A Gas Attack

I don’t even know what to say about this one.

Here’s the story

A 21-year-old man has been charged with knifing his friend to death and stabbing three others after he fled a party in fury because he was teased about his breaking wind.

Marc Higgins told police he was angry at being belittled and wanted to teach people that they shouldn't trifle with him, according to court documents in Hartford, Connecticut.

Police said Higgins got into an argument with another partygoer, Stacy Buccheri, who chastised him for being flatulent.

Witnesses told officers that Buccheri had slapped Higgins, who smashed a beer bottle and then stormed out of the apartment.

He returned around 45 minutes later armed with three knives and began stabbing people indiscriminately on a porch.

Higgins, described by witnesses as being 'very drunk', allegedly stabbed 21-year-old Matthew Walton to death and injured Sandra Ranger, 18, David Klett, 19, and Tyler Basso, 18.

When police officers arrived they found Walton in a first-floor apartment badly wounded and unresponsive.

Ranger was suffering from serious stab wounds and was taken to Bristol Hospital, where Walton was pronounced dead.
