The Royals remained unbeaten in Cactus League play after they earned an 8-1 win against the Reds on Sunday at Goodyear Ballpark. Kansas City is 9-0-1 this spring while Cincinnati is 2-9.

In his second spring start, Reds right-hander Homer Bailey struck out five of the seven Royals he faced in two scoreless innings. Bailey retired the side in order in the first with two strikeouts, and struck out the side in the second. His only blemish was a two-out lined single to right-center by Lorenzo Cain in the second.

"I would have liked to have more first-pitch strikes," Bailey said. "A couple of them missed by a little bit. Overall, it was pretty good. [Cain's] hit was a slider up a little bit. It was still a good pitch. Probably at 1-1, you want to make a little better pitch than that."

Ryan LaMarre's two-out, RBI double off of the right-field wall in the eighth scored Kris Negron, and ended the Reds' scoreless innings streak at 19.

The Royals took a 1-0 lead with two outs in the third when Alex Gordon hit a home run to right-center field against lefty Tony Cingrani. The homer was Gordon's first hit for extra bases this spring.

The Royals' second run came in the fourth inning against Reds reliever Logan Ondrusek when Mike Moustakas hit a one-out double and scored on Max Ramirez's RBI single. The bases were left loaded in the fourth when Jay Bruce made a nice sliding catch in the right-field corner to end the inning.

Moustakas added a two-out, RBI double to right field in the fifth against Jose Arredondo that made it a 3-0 game.

Four more runs crossed in the sixth on three straight RBI singles from Christian Colon, Xavier Nady and Brandon Wood. Nady's scored two runs.
