Bill Rinehart is Senior Correspondent for 700WLW News. Though despite his best efforts, no-one else will refer to him by that title.
He came to the Big One in August, 2004. His beat covers City Hall, Hamilton County Commissioners, breaking news, and anything else that comes along.
In his private life, he likes books, movies, television shows, and music. He is also a big fan of certain foods, and beverages. His hobbies include doing things, not doing other things, and blogging.
This blog takes an unflinching look, behind the scenes, in the newsroom. But mostly, it's just an excuse for you to not do any real work.
This is what I see on Saturdays, at work.
Earlier this week, I interviewed Dan McCabe about the upcoming Midpoint Music Festival. At least one person wanted to hear the entire exchange, not just snippets.
Also, work continues on the Smale Riverfront Park. Most everything east of the Roebling Suspension Bridge is built, but Dave Prather can explain further:
Coming up in September, the Tunnel to Towers 5K, at Spring Grove Cemetery. It honors Stephen Siller, an off-duty member of the NYFD. On 9-11, he heard about the attack at the World Trade Center, and grabbed his gear, to head to work. Because the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel was closed for security reasons, he ran to the Towers, with 65lbs. of gear. Siller died in the collapse.
The Tunnel to Tower runs, across the country honor Siller and all of the first responders who died that day.
