Reds pitching coach Bryan Price has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Miami Marlin manager job, a baseball source tells me.
Price interviewed for the job last week.
Price, 50, had already agreed to an extension with the Reds.
The Reds are coming off one of their best years ever as far as pitching. They finished third in the National League in ERA at 3.34, the lowest for the team since 1988. The staff set a franchise record for strikeouts with 1,248.
Johnny Cueto, Mat Latos, Bronson Arroyo, Homer Bailey and Mike Leake made all but one start.
The bullpen led the NL in ERA (2.65) and opponent average (.219).
