( Cincinnati ) A day after the resignation of Butch Jones, University of Cincinnati has a new head football coach. Tommy Tuberville has accepted the job and was introduced on Saturday at Fifth Third Arena.

Tuberville says he wants to stay at UC for "many years to come." He says his goal is to help UC rise to new heights both on and off the field. His contract is for five years, though financial terms have not yet been disclosed. He says he will not coach the Bearcats in the upcoming Belk Bowl, leaving that to Assistant Coach Steve Stripling.

Tuberville comes from Texas Tech where he has spent the last three seasons, most recently going 7-5 this year with a berth in the Meineke Car Care Bowl. Tuberville also spent 10 seasons at Auburn and four at Ole Miss and has a lifetime record of 130-77.
